Description: Akron General Health & Wellness Center is a multi-dimensional out-patient facility that brings together a wide range of clinical and retail-oriented health services in an effort to significantly improve the health of the community, focusing on prevention, early detection and out-patient treatment.
Akron General’s center was recognized nationally as the first health and wellness center to truly integrate rehabilitation with the prevention components of health. The center shares equipment, staff and space. There are no walls separating services, and equipment cannot be reserved by any individual service.
The largest portion of the building consists of a 53,000 square foot, medically-supervised, membership-based, health and fitness center called Akron General LifeStyles-North. The center focuses on the prevention of lifestyle-related disease, illness and injury through regular participation in physical activity, disease management and health education.
